I was only 12-13 years old when “Alias Smith and Jones” was on the air with Pete Duel and Ben Murphy. It was my favorite TV show. I remember when they switched prime time from 7:30 – 8:30PM time slot to 8:00 – 9:00PM. This was a crisis for me, because my bedtime was 8:30PM and my mom was strict. I had such a major mental melt-down when my mom said I had to go to bed half an hour before the show was over, that this was one time she back down. “Alias Smith and Jones” night was the one night I was allowed to stay up an extra half-hour.

Now as a 62 year old woman, who has lived through many life experiences, I realize men have their frailties, too. Pete was fabulously gifted in so many ways. It was sad someone could not have said, “You are doing great. Calm down. Breath.”
